Santa Ana is a cute little bugger with
straight conformation, a pretty little wedge head, locked and lusterious fleece
and sweet personality. She is white on the outside. Her maternal grandsire is
Silver King. Her paternal grandsire is Condor. This is an interesting package. She took 4th place at the level 5 Indiana show in a class of 12 white juvenile females. That tells you something about this bloodline. When you are
breeding for color and matching mates who are from grey lineage and the
offspring is a white animal.....and still places in the ribbons at one of the
biggest shows in AOBA show history.......you know you have quality.You
can't always see what you have. You have to wonder if the grandfather's grey and
maroon will come through her. We expect her to be an incredible producer as her
grand dam is our best, most consistent producer and her dam is following suite.
Yunta has had a baby every year since she started breeding and Saphana bred back
right away and concieved on her first mating with Bet on Black - which was his
first breeding ever. If you are going to be an alpaca breeder you can't beat
female reproduction genetics like this.
We've chosen Pucara Kahuna, 2008
Futurity Reserve Herdsire of the Year and 2008 AOBA Get of Sire winner, for Santa Ana's first breeding in spring
2009. Her price reflects that breeding.
After a long week away from the farm the best welcome home gift I could get was this sweet little girl cushed in my pasture first thing in the morning. Sashemi never disappoints us with her cria-tions. Looks like little "Wella" will have lots of brown locks and black legs and face. Just what we ordered when we bred her to Shakespeare. She's really young, but she's really nice.....and getting better every day. |

Shakespeare finally came through for us with this little black female. Everyone else seemed to have a black baby from Shakespeare, it seemed, so we thought we were due and Aztec Gold was the most obvious choice to bring it through. Teavana is a big healthy girl and born easily. Aztec is a strong vigorous female with lots of milk so Teavana has some nice reproductive genetics going for her, as well as some pretty nice high luster black fiber. We will make Teavana available for sale since we know we can make more black babies with Aztec. Her combination of color genetics is knockout and we will breed her mom to Bet on Black for a black baby next year too.
